ðºThe National Education Policy 2020 has emphasized reading as a key skill for foundational learning.
ðºThe critical role played by Public/Schools/Digital libraries towards this end is also highlighted. The P. N. Panicker Foundation has been a key contributor in this area.
ðºHonouring the father of the Library Movement, the late P.N. Panicker, 19thJune is being celebrated as Reading Day and the following week as the Reading Week.
ðºStarted as a Reading Day Celebration on 19th June 1996, it has become a mass movement to promote the culture of reading.
ðºOn 19th June 2017, Honâble Prime Minister launched the 22ndNational Reading Month Celebrations and gave a clarion call to propagate the message of âRead and Growâ among all the citizens of the country by 2022.
ðºThe 27th National Reading Day will be celebrated on 19th June 2022, the following week as Reading Week and Reading Month will be celebrated from 19th June to 18th July 2022. A variety of events will be organized in hybrid mode in Schools/Colleges/Libraries by the P. N. Panicker Foundation.

ðºWe will be celebrating the Reading Day, Reading Week and Reading Month by organizing similar online activities as suggested by the P. N. Panicker Foundation or other activities.
ðºStudents will be encouraged to participate in the online activities and competitions being organized by the Foundation.
